Complaints

One of the Commission’s functions under the Utilities Commission Act 2000 is the investigation of complaints against licensed entities under the relevant industry regulation Acts.

The Water and Sewerage Services Act 2000 provides specific involvement for the Commission to resolve disputes and arbitrate in certain circumstances such as under the Trade Waste Code or where issues arise under special agreements. In the first instance, attempts should be made to resolve complaints in accordance with the processes set out in the customer contract.
