The Commission approved Power and Water Corporation's proposed network target standards for the 2024-2029 regulatory control period without conditions or variation. Power and Water Corporation must use its best endeavours to meet the approved network target standards.
Power and Water Corporation, an electricity network service provider, is required under the Electricity Industry Performance Code to develop and submit proposed network target standards to the Commission for approval for each regulatory control period.
On 20 December 2022, the Commission received a submission from Power and Water Corporation proposing network target standards for the 2024-29 regulatory control period. The Commission accepted Power and Water Corporations’ submission and was required make a decision regarding the proposed network target standards by 20 March 2023.
Although not required by the Electricity Industry Performance Code, the Commission considered it good regulatory practice to publicly consult with stakeholders and other interested parties prior to making its decision on the proposed network target standards. The Commission also prepared a consultation overview to assist stakeholders in interpreting the submission.
The Commission received one submission, from Jacana Energy.
The Commission published its Decision – proposed network target standards 2024-2029 – Power and Water Corporation on 9 March 2023.
