Network target standards
The Electricity Industry Performance Code requires network entities to develop and submit network target standards to the Commission for approval for each regulatory control period. Network entities are required to propose target standards based on System Average Interruption Duration Index (SAIDI) and System Average Interruption Frequency Index (SAIFI) performance indicators. SAIDI is an index showing the duration that customers are without electricity, while SAIFI is an index showing the frequency of interruptions to customers’ electricity supply.
A network entity must use its best endeavours to be meet the approved network target standards during the relevant regulatory control period.
