Network Outage Event Assessments

Under the Electricity Industry Performance Code, the Commission assesses reports submitted by licensed electricity network operators to determine whether a network outage event was outside the operator's control.

These assessments are undertaken where a network operator seeks to exclude a network outage event from certain network performance reporting and Guaranteed Service Level (GSL) payment obligations in accordance with the Electricity Industry Performance Code.

The Commission publishes its assessments of network outage events to provide transparency about its decisions and the application of the Code.

Network outage event assessments

  • Assessment of Network Outage Event occurring from 7 to 11 March 2026 – Power and Water Corporation (determined to be an excluded event for the purposes of performance reporting and GSL payment obligations under the Code)
  • Assessment of Network Outage Event on 22 November 2025 – Power and Water Corporation (determined to be an excluded event for the purposes of performance reporting and GSL payment obligations under the Code)
