Invitation for Submissions - Draft Determination and PWC’s Revised Regulatory Proposal
In December 2013 and in accordance with the Network Access Code, the Commission released for public consultation a Draft Determination and constituent draft decisions for the network charges able to be levied by Power and Water Corporation's (PWC) network business unit (PWC Networks) for the five year regulatory control period 1 July 2014 to 30 June 2019.
Network charges are generally paid by electricity retailers, including PWC's retail business unit (PWC Retail) to PWC Networks, and represent one component of bundled electricity charges, which also include generation, system operations and retail charges.
For small and medium size customers (those consuming less than 750MWh of electricity per annum), retail tariffs are regulated by a Government Pricing Order which sets the maximum amount that PWC Retail is able to charge these categories of customers. A change to the network price as a result of the Commission’s network price determination will not impact the current Pricing Order.
Consistent with the requirements of the National Electricity Rules, PWC Networks has submitted a revised regulatory proposal to the Commission. The Commission will consider the revised regulatory proposal and submissions from stakeholders prior to making the Final Determination in April 2014.
The Commission invites submissions on the Draft Determination and PWC Networks’ revised regulatory proposal by 10 March 2014.
Printed copies of the Draft Determination and PWC Networks’ revised regulatory proposal are available by contacting the Commission Office on 08 8999 5480.
