2025-2028 Prescribed Port Services Price Determination – Final Determination

The Commission has published its final 2025-2028 Prescribed Port Services Price Determination for the Port of Darwin. The final price determination relates to the charges fixed by a private port operator and a private pilotage provider for the provision of prescribed services at the Port of Darwin and the manner in which the Commission will monitor those prices.

New licensing arrangements for small scale generation, small scale generation power purchase agreements, virtual power plants and electric vehicle charging stations

The Commission has granted four new class exemptions relating to small scale generation operations, small scale generation power purchase agreements, virtual power plants and electric vehicle charging stations and revoked the small scale renewable energy operations exemption (this is replaced by the small scale generation operations exemption).

Parties wishing to be exempt from the requirement to hold an electricity supply licence(s) must comply with the conditions of the relevant exemption. For the small scale generation power purchase agreements and virtual power plants exemptions, this includes a requirement to register the proposed operations with the Commission.

2024-27 System Control and Market Operator Charges Review – Decision Paper on regulatory framework

The Commission has published a Decision Paper on the regulatory framework for determining system control and market operator charges. The Commission has also decided not to approve NTESMO’s initial regulatory proposal for system control and market operator charges for the 2024-27 regulatory period.

The Commission has released the 2025-2028 Prescribed Port Services Price Determination Port of Darwin – Draft Determination and invites submissions on the draft determination by 5pm Friday 25 October 2024.  Submissions on the draft determination will inform the final price determination.
