Network and Retail licence exemption granted - Zenith Pacific (DBG-GTS) Pty Ltd
The Commission has granted, with the approval of the Minister, a Section 87 Exemption to Zenith Pacific (DBS-GTS) from the requirement to hold a network and retail licence for the operation of its Tanami Mine. The Commission has published a Decision Summary that provides information on the reasons for the Commission’s decision to grant the exemption.
Transfer of Generation Licence - Batchelor Solar Power Station
The Commission has approved and executed the transfer of the generation licence for the Batchelor Solar Power Station from Eni Australia Limited (Agent) and Eni New Energy Batchelor Pty Ltd (Principal) to Eni Plenitude Renewables Batchelor Pty Ltd, with effect 30 June 2026, in accordance with section 33 of the Electricity Reform Act 2000.

The Commission has approved and executed the transfer of the generation licence for the Katherine Solar Power Station from Eni Australia Limited (Agent) and Eni New Energy Katherine Pty Ltd (Principal) to Eni Plenitude Renewables Katherine Pty Ltd, with effect 30 June 2026, in accordance with section 33 of the Electricity Reform Act 2000.

2025 Northern Territory Electricity Outlook Report Update
The Utilities Commission has published its 2025 Northern Territory Electricity Outlook Report Update. The report provides a high-level qualitative assessment of changes in electricity supply and demand across the Darwin-Katherine, Alice Springs and Tennant Creek power systems, based on updated information received since the 2023 Northern Territory Electricity Outlook Report.

The Commission has received an application from Environmental Keystones Pty Ltd for a licence to generate electricity in accordance with the Electricity Reform Act 2000.
