Generation licence application (exemption) - Total Generators

The Commission received an application from Total Rental Pty Ltd, as trustee for ANP Unit Trust, trading as Total Generators for an exemption from the requirement to hold a generation licence, in accordance with the Electricity Reform Act 2000.

Total Generators is proposing to own and operate a diesel-powered generating facility at the Ranger Rehabilitation Project near Jabiru. The facility will have a generation capacity of up to 5.2 MW and will supply electricity to support rehabilitation activities at the former Ranger Mine site.

In accordance with good regulatory practice, the Commission is seeking submissions regarding the licence application from system participants and stakeholders. Any submissions should be provided by COB Thursday 3 December 2026.

More information regarding the application by Total Rental Pty Ltd can be found on the Generation licence application (exemption) – Total Generators project page.
