Network and Retail licence exemption granted - Zenith Pacific (DBG-GTS) Pty Ltd

The Commission has granted, with the approval of the Minister, a Section 87 Exemption to Zenith Pacific (DBS-GTS) from the requirement to hold a network and retail licence for the operation of its Tanami Mine. The Commission has published a Decision Summary that provides information on the reasons for the Commission’s decision to grant the exemption.

In March 2026, the Commission received an application from Zenith Pacific (DBS-GTS) Pty Ltd requesting an exemption from the requirement to hold a licence under the Electricity Reform Act 2000. The Commission assessed Zenith Pacific (DBS-GTS) Pty Ltd’s application and undertook a three-week consultation process on the application and received no submissions.

More information about Zenith Pacific (DBS-GTS) Pty Ltd’s application for a network and retail licence exemption and the Commission’s decision process can be found on the network and retail licence application (exemption) – Zenith Pacific (DBS-GTS) Pty Ltd project page.
