Reappointment of Utilities Commissioner

On 17 October 2016, Dr Patrick Walsh was reappointed as the Commissioner of the Utilities Commission of the Northern Territory. The reappointment is for five years on a part-time basis commencing on 28 October 2016.

Dr Walsh commenced as Utilities Commissioner in October 2011. He was also Chairperson of the Essential Services Commission of South Australia until February 2016. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Energy and Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Dr Walsh has held senior public sector positions in the energy regulation and reform area in South Australia over the past 25 years. He holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics from the University of Adelaide.
