2018 System Control Charges Review - Issues Paper
The Power and Water Corporation (PWC) holds a System Control Licence, granted by the Utilities Commission (the Commission) in accordance with Part 3 of the Electricity Reform Act (the Act).
Section 39 of the Act provides that a system controller is entitled to impose and recover charges relating to the operations of system control (1), with the charges to be applied to be approved by the Commission (2).
PWC has made a submission to the Commission (Review of System Control Charges and Associated Funding Issues ) under section 39(1) of the Act proposing an increase to the system control charge, from the current $0.001 per kWh to $0.0057 per kWh, from 1 July 2019, and an annual review of the charge.
As part of the Commission’s review of PWC’s system control charge proposal, it has drafted an Issues Paper, which identifies topics that should be considered and seeks feedback from stakeholders. All interested parties are invited to make submissions on the Issues Paper by 11 January 2019.
