Consultation: Application for Retail Licence – Power Generation Corporation (trading as Territory Generation)
The Commission has received an application from Power Generation Corporation (trading as Territory Generation) as required by section 14 of the Electricity Reform Act 2000 (ER Act), for a licence to sell electricity in accordance with section 23 of the ER Act.
Territory Generation is seeking to sell electricity solely to the Department of Defence (DoD) for use at the Joint Defence Facility Pine Gap, located in Alice Springs.
The Minister for Renewables, Energy and Essential Services authorised Territory Generation to supply electricity to the DoD during the retail restriction period, subject to the condition that the electricity is used only for the Joint Defence Facility Pine Gap. This authorisation was gazetted on 16 January 2019, Gazette notice no. G3.
In accordance with good regulatory practice, the Commission seeks comments on the licence application from system participants and stakeholders. Any comments should be provided by Friday, 30 August 2019.
Any comments or queries should be directed to the Utilities Commission at utilities.commission@nt.gov.au or 08 8999 5480.
