Extension of Power and Water Corporation consultation period - Generator Performance Standards

On 19 December 2018, the Power and Water Corporation (PWC) released proposed amendments to the rules governing electricity production in the Northern Territory, the Generator Performance Standards, for consultation.

PWC has extended the consultation period in recognition that it is critical for stakeholders and potential proponents to fully understand the links and interactions between the Generator Performance Standards review (conducted by PWC) and the draft NTEM Functional Specification review (conducted by the Department of Treasury and Finance). The consultation period has been extended to 4pm Friday 29 March 2019.

PWC has indicated that two additional papers will be released on Tuesday 12 March 2019 to provide further clarity on forecasting and contingency frequency ancillary services requirements. Stakeholders will be given the opportunity to update their submissions, as appropriate.

Further details on the proposed amendments and PWC’s consultation can be found under Market Operator Consultation Papers on the PWC website.
