Power and Water Corporation consultation supplementary information – Generator Performance Standards

On 19 December 2018, the Power and Water Corporation (PWC) released proposed amendments to the rules governing electricity production in the Northern Territory, the Generator Performance Standards, for consultation.

PWC has released a supplementary paper to the Generator Performance Standards consultation process. The paper includes:

  • further clarity on the objectives of the proposed Generator Performance Standard amendments
  • new capacity forecasting requirements
  • further background regarding the proposed removal of the semi-scheduled generator classification.

PWC has indicated that a further paper on contingency frequency control ancillary services will be released in the near future. Stakeholders will be given the opportunity to update their submissions, as appropriate.

PWC has extended the consultation period to 4pm Friday 29 March 2019.

Further details on the proposed amendments and PWC’s consultation can be found under Market Operator Consultation Papers on the PWC website.
