  • Variation to the Electricity Retail Supply Code
14 Jan 2016

Variation to the Electricity Retail Supply Code

The Commission gave notice on 2 October 2015 that it intended to make an administrative variation to the Electricity Retail Supply code (the Code) to reflect that the Retailer of Last Resort (RoLR) is the Power Retail Corporation (trading as Jacana Energy). No comments were received from licensees or stakeholders.

The Code was published in 2011, prior to the structural separation of Power and Water Corporation (PWC) into separate retail, generation and network business units and referred to PWC as the RoLR in the Code. As part of structural separation of PWC, the functions of the RoLR were transferred to the Power Retail Corporation (trading as Jacana Energy).

The Code has been amended to refer to Jacana Energy in the context of the RoLR, effective from 18 January 2016.

In accordance with sections 24(6) and 24(7) of the Utilities Commission Act respectively, the Minister and each licensed entity to which the Code applies will be given notice of the variation of the Code. A notice of the variation has also been published in the Gazette.

Queries should be directed to the Utilities Commission at (08) 8999 5480 or Utilities.Commission@nt.gov.au.

Electricity Retail Supply Code Final – as amended on 11 January 2016.
