Consultation - Draft Access Policy of Darwin Port Operations Pty Ltd

The Commission invites submissions from stakeholders on the port operator’s new draft access policy for the Port of Darwin by 5 pm (CST) 18 March 2022.

Under the Ports Management Act 2015, a private port operator must have an access policy. The access policy aims to provide a framework for port users requesting access to prescribed services, the approach to be taken by the private port operator in determining access and the terms on which access will be provided at the port.

The Commission approved the port operator’s initial access policy for the Port of Darwin on 30 June 2017 and the access policy will nominally expire on 30 June 2022.

On 23 February 2022, the port operator provided its new draft access policy to the Commission for consideration and approval. The Commission invites submissions to inform its decision on the draft access policy.

The draft access policy, which comprises three separate documents, can be found on the Port of Darwin Access Policy Approval - 2022 project page .
