The Commission has received a total of six submissions in response to the Utilities Commission’s Draft Decision in relation to Power and Water Corporation’s proposed amendments to the Network Technical Code and System Control Technical Code to implement new Generator Performance Standards.

The Commission has received an application from the Commonwealth of Australia, represented by the Department of Defence, for a licence to sell electricity and for an exemption from the need to hold a licence to operate an electricity network.

A submission has been received from Power and Water Corporation (PWC) in response to the Utilities Commission’s Draft Decision in relation to PWC’s proposed amendments to the Network Technical Code and System Control Technical Code to implement new Generator Performance Standards.
Utilities Commission Office Christmas closure
The Utilities Commission Office is closed from Monday 23 December 2019 to Wednesday 1 January 2020 (inclusive), with staff returning to work on Thursday 2 January 2020.

The Utilities Commission wishes to advise stakeholders that it is still considering stakeholder feedback in relation to its review of the Electricity Ring-fencing Code and Guidelines. A revised expected date for the release of the draft decision and draft revised code is early 2020.

Retail Licence Approved – Territory Generation
The Commission has issued an electricity retail licence to Power Generation Corporation (trading as Territory Generation) for the sale of electricity to the Department of Defence for use at the Joint Defence Facility Pine Gap, located in Alice Springs, with effect from 29 November 2019.
