On 29 July 2016, the Commission published a consultation paper on proposed amendments to the Electricity Retail Supply Code requesting submissions from stakeholders on Power and Water Corporation’s (PWC) application to amend the Code.

The Power and Water Corporation (PWC) has made an application to the Commission for amendments to the Retail Supply Code in light of substantial reform to the NT electricity sector, including the introduction of a wholesale market, structural separation of PWC and the entrance of new retailers.

The Commission received applications from EDL NGD (NT) Pty Ltd for a licence to sell electricity and a licence to generate electricity in accordance with section 23 and section 21 respectively of the Electricity Reform Act.
