The Utilities Commission would like to advise stakeholders that the Department of Treasury and Finance has published a Northern Territory Electricity Market (NTEM) Functional Specification Consultation paper.
Consultation closed and submissions received for System Control Charges Review
The Power and Water Corporation (PWC) made a submission to the Commission (Review of System Control Charges and Associated Funding Issues) under section 39(1) of the Electricity Reform Act proposing an increase to the system control charge, from the current $0.001 per kWh to $0.0057 per kWh, from 1 July 2019, and an annual review of the charge.
Utilities Commission Strategic Plan and 2019 Priorities released
The Strategic Plan sets out the Commission’s strategy for 2019-2021 including its goals, and how these goals relate to the Commission’s primary objective and indicators of success.

The Commission has approved and executed the transfer of Katherine Solar Pty Ltd’s Generation Licence to Eni Australia Limited, with effect 11 January 2019, in accordance with section 33 of the Electricity Reform Act.

On 13 February 2019, the Utilities Commission issued a final price determination in accordance with section 132 of the Ports Management Act and section 20(1)(a) of the Utilities Commission Act.
Consultation: Application for Generation Licence – Airport Development Group Pty Ltd
The Commission has received an application from Airport Development Group Pty Ltd as required by Section 14 of the Electricity Reform Act (the Act), for a licence to generate electricity in accordance with Section 21 of the Act.
