Utilities Commission commences port access and price regulation role

Variation to the Electricity Retail Supply Code
The Commission gave notice on 2 October 2015 that it intended to make an administrative variation to the Electricity Retail Supply code (the Code) to reflect that the Retailer of Last Resort (RoLR) is the Power Retail Corporation (trading as Jacana Energy). No comments were received from licensees or stakeholders.

Port of Darwin - Draft Price Determination
On 17 December 2015, the Commission released a draft determination which the Commission is authorised to make under section 132 of the Ports Management Act and section 20(1)(a) of the Utilities Commission Act. It relates to the charges fixed by Landbridge Group (the private port operator) for the provision of prescribed service at the Port of Darwin.
